CLAUDE POWERS

Chief Operating Officer (COO) & President

Claude Powers oversees and leads all aspects of the firm and its projects. With expertise in general contracting, construction management, design-build construction, and owner’s representative projects, Claude serves clients including BMO Harris Bank, McDonald’s Corporation, Chicago Public Schools, Jackson Park Hospital, and Walmart, among others.

As project executive overseeing ten years and five phases of residential development for the Chicago Housing Authority’s Legends South initiative totaling $142.5 million, Claude also led construction of six other affordable housing developments in Chicago totaling $141 million.

His experience includes the $300 million Hard Rock Casino Northern Indiana project, the $38 million U.S. Steel Yard Stadium, $24 million Northtown Library & Apartments, and a nearly $12 million interior build-out of the University of Chicago's Harper Court.

  • A member of the Gary Chamber of Commerce, Claude is currently a member of the chamber's education subcommittee focused on school-to-career initiatives.
  • Claude is actively engaged in local labor and workforce development efforts through the Northwest Indiana Contractors Association, where he was past president and former chair of the Labor Committee for the Commercial Contractors Caucus. He serves as a trustee on the Indiana Carpenters Pension Fund and its apprenticeship board.
  • A current member and past chairman of the Construction Advancement Foundation (CAF) Board of Directors, he was instrumental in Powers & Sons' selection for the 2020 CAF Excellence in Professional Development Award.
